Simple Wedding Ideas.
I created these items as templates for creating wedding "reception and ceremony" items that add a unique flavor to each event. I am just pretty much starting out but crafting has been in my bones since I was a little girl. Crafting is more than a hobby it, it is self expressing and a combustion of various ideas and wanting to create a unique setting.
The place cards above I bought on the clearance section at Walmart. It was a set of of 50 invitations, envelopes and place cards for the clearance price of $10.00. I figured it was a great price for what I was looking to do. I used the Martha Stuart butterfly punch out which was great because it allowed me to layer. I added the rhinestones for an added touch. To weave the Turquoise ribbon I used the Recollections Ribbon hole punch. They carry various hole punches with different size shapes and ribbon sizes. If you go to the ribbon section in Michael's they carry a sheet of rhinestone stickers in which you can just cut out the size strip I needed to add onto the place card. This was very easy to do considering the wedding pack I purchased came with step by step instructions on what to do and how to print everything out.
The invitation was also a part of the clearance pack and the smaller card with several butterflies, was the extra RSVP blank card. I just cut out the portion with the Martha Stuart punch to make it look more interesting on the side. I wanted this RSVP to serve as the menu card. Not all menu cards have to be flat invitation type cards. Add flare to your look and these added touches make a difference.
This was my first and only pocket pack all in one invitation package. I actually received a wedding invite from my cousins wedding in which I broke a part (terrible I know) just to learn how to put it all together to create this piece. I did not attach the middle portion because nothing was printed on the sheet. For my first time, I thought it came out great, however, lesson learned.... make sure the card stock you use is not heavy because it will cost you a tremendous amount just mail out and for brides or hosts in general, if you are looking to save money, do not purchase heavy cards. Size does matter and so does the weight.
If you have any wedding ideas, please share. I would love to take on a new challenge and see what great things can be done.
