Saving Money when buying crafts....
If you are really looking to save money, always wait for the big sales. Only purchase the items you know you will use on sale days and whatever is not on sale wait for the next week to purchase the rest. If Michael's does not have what you want always try AC Moore, they usually have items on sale that Michael's does not. You can always try Joann's online since their stores seem to carry limited craft items. http://www.michaels.com
Another place which you can purchase great items is www.scrapbuck.com. If you sign up for their email listing they will keep you posted on sale items which include spellbinder dies that you can purchase for $10.00 each. Every now and then AC Moore also has Manager Specials on Spellbinders as well. http://www.acmoore.com
Joann's will usually have their personalized magazines in the beginning and mid year and this book has 8 coupons on the back. Four of which I believe are 50% off coupons and the rest 40%, they are about $3.99 each but worth it when you are doing huge purchases such as fabrics and/or big craft items with a high price tag. What's good about these particular coupons is that you can also use them in Michael's. In some Joann stores if your lucky you can use a combination of coupons on one purchase. That does not often happen but if your lucky it turns out to be a great deal. Michael's is extremely strict and you are limited to only one coupon per purchase. http://www.joann.com
If you are looking for really inexpensive cellophane bags and pouches to display your items to sell for your craft shows, look no further than Uniquepacking on eBay. Uniquepacking is the Seller Name. It is awesome http://stores.ebay.com/uniquepacking for bulk cellobags in smaller bulk packages go to http://stores.ebay.com/ezpackaging
If you are looking for Swarovski crystal beads and/or flatbacks then go to this amazing site... www.hotfixqueen.com. They have great deals.
http://www.save-on-crafts.com and http://www.shopwildthings.com are also great sites. www.koyalwholesale.com is good for some things but I find some of their items you can find cheaper on other sites, for instance, the rhinestone ribbon seems to be more expensive on their site than eBay or amazon.
Save-a-thon is also a great place to get good deals. The best savings you can get is when they throw their warehouse sale. It is located in Harlem and well worth the trip. I have bought more than 30 flower stem packs for a $1.00. Each stem is worth $1.99 or more and I got the bulk package for a buck. You can not go wrong with that. Since the store does not have a specific website because it is not an online store, you can always view the facebook page which does inform you of the warehouse sales. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-A-Thon-Stores/135372923171384
I hope these money saving ideas are good for a starter blog. If you have any other suggestions, please advise. I would love to know if there are any sites where I can create a craft on a budget.
